The highly-anticipated new album "Humble Quest" from Grammy-winning superstar Maren Morris has been released via Sony Music Nashville’s Columbia Nashville imprint. Her latest record was made during the postpartum depression that followed the birth of her first child, darkness compounded by the loss of her longtime creative wingman Michael Busbee to brain cancer and magnified by the pandemic. Yet the music on her third album is joyous and bright, playful and profound, full of easy, comfortable pleasures that feel deeper for being hard-won. To say "Humble Quest" is a re-embrace of country music is misleading as it suggests Morris, who can conjure a Texan Amy Winehouse, was ever a neat fit for the genre or that she ever has aspired to be. That said, the album is a near-perfect expression of country-pop post-"Golden Hour," the high-water mark by Morris’ Lone Star pal Kacey Musgraves: music channelling the ’70s California rock that channelled classic country songcraft. "Humble Quest" may be filigreed with pedal steel, dobro, and mandolin, but it runs on guitars, synth washes, big drums, and bigger choruses. Morris has released a few songs before the long-awaited album’s release, including “Circles Around This Town,” “Background Music,” and “Nervous.” Furthermore, Maren’s Humble Quest Tour will see her play headline dates across the U.S. this year. Kicking off in June, the tour includes stops at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater, one Canadian stop in Toronto on July 16 @ the Budweiser stage and more
