This was the first new taste of new music we have heard from Canadian singer Nelly Furtado since 2012’s "Spirit Indestructible," and her fans did not rush to buy a copy of her comeback album, "The Ride," which was released on Mar. 31, 2017. Unfortunately, the album debuted with a disappointing 1,814 copies sold. It placed at No. 153 on the sales charts but was one of the most slept-on releases of that year.

The Grammy winner had been on top of her game, riding the wave of 2006's album "Loose," which singles "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right," both reached the summit of the Billboard Hot 100. "The Ride" is an adventurous 12-track journey that serves as the perfect medicine for guiding through a heartbreak. If you have yet to listen to the album, it is a must as it's Furtado's most mature work to date.
