In 2006 Blackmore's Night released their album "Winter Carols," fitting for the time. This is now available as a deluxe edition. Not entirely new, there were also extended new editions in 2013 and 2017. The current version was carefully remastered in the late summer of this year, and included is a brand-new song: "Coventry Carol." The beautiful Blackmore's Night interpretation of this English Christmas carol, originally dating from the 16th century, comes with additional lyrics by award-winning lyricist and vocalist Candice Night and new musical arrangements by legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. The album also contains a remastered version of"Christmas Eve," the band's successful and timeless Christmas single, as well as the four festive tracks "Here We Come A-Caroling," "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear," "O Little Town Of Bethlehem" and "Silent Night" previously unavailable in this format. Coinciding with the release of the expanded Winter Carols, an animated music video for the original Blackmore's Night tune "Christmas Eve" has premiered at the band's official YouTube channel. The festive clip features computer-animated images of Santa Claus and his gift-filled, reindeer-drawn sleigh flying over a snow-covered town as children go ice skating and people walk around a brightly lit Christmas tree in the town square.
