NEW ALBUM: BRUNO MARS & ANDERSON .PAAK | AN EVENING WITH SILK SONIC

Eight months after releasing their first hit single, "Leave The Door Open," Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak has finally released "An Evening With Silk Sonic" The collaboration project contains nine tracks of nostalgic, bass-heavy rhythms often narrated by the legendary Funkadelic frontman Bootsy Collins and includes a feature from Thundercat. Iconic funk legend Collins named the duo Silk Sonic. Mars is a Grammy Award-winning singer known for hit songs like "Just The Way You Are” and “Grenade," and . Paak is a hip-hop icon who first stoked anticipation with his 2016 breakthrough album "Malibu." Mars has been fishing for a static image as a vintage showman ever since he figured out the parameters of current pop didn’t suit him. .Paak has gravitated towards the ‘70s soul from the beginning. One is waiting for a Michael Jackson moment, and the other is more than fine wowing from behind the scenes. Their bond is certified atop ostentatious funk and soul, making for a fun, seductive, and sometimes soul-stirring experience. On ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’, the magic is in the way that the music moves: the songs are radiant and full of joy, formed from the synergy of two relentlessly creative minds. Silk Sonic initially had stated that their album wouldn't drop until January 2022, citing that they didn't want the project "to be binge-watched" but then was pushed forward. "An Evening With Silk Sonic" is the first official collaboration for Mars and .Paak, although they previously toured together when .Paak was the opening act for Mars's 24K Magic World Tour in 2017.
