Singer-songwriter, who grew up in Merrick, just dropped her long-awaited 10th studio album of original material in 20 years, "The Body Remembers," marks a new chapter for Gibson on her own label Stargirl Records. She enlisted a dream team of collaborators including Grammy Award-winning DJ / Producer Tracy Young, multi-platinum recording artist DJ Ashba, 20-year old musical prodigy Sean Thomas, Emmy winner, composer/arranger, metal band Cinderella drummer Fred Coury, Broadway power couple Orfeh and Andy Karl, and an incredible mix team of Brian Malouf (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Queen), Luca Pretolesi (Diplo, JBalvin) and 8x Grammy award winner Josh Gudwin (Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber). The album comes after a whirlwind decade that involved a management shake-up, a romantic breakup and a battle with Lyme disease. Of the 15 tracks, 14 are self-penned – "Runway" is a co-write with producer Sean Thomas – which, in an era where self-penned pop anthems are a scarcity, is a testament to Gibson’s enduring creativity. She brings a similar spirit to that seminal album on ‘The Body Remembers,’ balancing all-out pop bangers (Love Don’t Care, Girls Night Out, What Are We Gonna Do) with more intricate, laid-back numbers (Legendary, Red Carpet Ready, Me Not Loving You). It’s a formula that allows the record to breathe and, amongst all the neon lights and glitter, offers a glimpse of Debbie Gibson today.
