Celebrating 10 years of this band, ten years of adventures through life, 5 Seconds of Summer decided to surprise us with a rapid-fire attack. First, with their "5 Seconds of Summer Talk 10 Years" podcast, they separated to ten days until their 10th anniversary. We got two significant announcements the 5 Seconds Of Summer Show and a new 5SOS song called "2011." This is what the band had to say, “This year we’re celebrating ten years of 5 Seconds of Summer. Singlehandedly, the best ten years of our lives. So to honour every experience, lesson and person we’ve encountered, we decided to make the 5 Seconds of Summer Show. Something that captures the pursuit of creation, the love of the relationship we have with our fans and the endless boundary of what it means to be in a band. Above all else, we were once again rediscovering how beautiful it is to be able to share our story together.” The song was produced by the one and only Michael Clifford, as we tasted the new 5SOS sound. Here is what 5SOS said about their new track “We will release a song called ‘2011’ which is an homage to the past, and a nod to what we have in store to the future. We’ve loved every minute of being in this band. Here’s to another ten years of 5 Seconds of Summer.” The group consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin. Initially beginning their career as YouTube celebrities, they rose to international fame while touring with the English-Irish boy band One Direction.
