Nashville, Tennessee-based indie-pop singer-songwriter Bre Kennedy is letting go of yesterday. “Wilburn Street” is the second single this year following “The Hardest Part” featuring Hadley Kennary that came out earlier this year. The new song infuses both a pop and folk culmination that is topped off with detailed storytelling and Kennedy’s voice filled with breathy air and rasp. This year, Kennedy will be releasing a new album and, to date, has released several singles, including the first single, “Progress,” released in April. Influenced by Brandi Carlile, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, and Cat Power, she creates “music soaked in rich storytelling with piercing pop sensibilities.” The singer has opened for renowned artists such as Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr. and Birdtalker. Kennedy is joining neo-soul pop band Fitz & The Tantrums this summer on select dates.
