They say that imitation is the biggest form of flattery, and clearly, Conor Maynard is in the business of flattering. Having sky-rocketed into the depths of stardom on YouTube with melodic displays of pop perfection, the 29-year-old singer crafted himself a career filled with smash hits, collaborations with the likes of Ne-Yo and Frank Ocean and of course, a following teaming with crazed fangirls. He has now released his latest single entitled "P.G.N.L." and a tour on the horizon; there's plenty to keep Maynard busy. The new track follows his own version of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” taking the ultimate party song and transforming it completely. The original fast-paced, danceable tune is slowed down, and Maynard hones in on longing for love rather than wanting to get up and dance. Maynard spoke of his new track, "PG.N.L.," saying, "I’m super excited about my new single PGNL coming out; I think that will be really cool because it’s something different to what people have heard from me before. I wrote and produced it entirely myself, so it will be interesting to see what people think. Obviously, the tour is coming up; it’s my first time back on the road since the world has changed." With over ten years since his breakout success, Conor has explored different musical avenues and picked up creative skills galore. Additionally, later this year, Maynard will be hitting the road on tour for the first time since 2019. “It’s been a long time, and I can’t wait to see everyone again,” he says. After an exciting start to the year with this single, there is much more to expect from Maynard in 2022.
