After ten long years since his last solo effort, Darren Hayes has unexpectedly returned with a sensational new single, "Let’s Try Being In Love," The new track was written by Darren and released independently via his label Powdered Sugar Productions, the upbeat electro-pop track is infused with 80’s vibes, and features that signature falsetto we know and love. After wiping his social media accounts, Darren surprised fans on January 23rd with a track teaser and a pre-save link. The track comes with an accompanying music video which is directed by Andrew Putschoegl, written and art directed by Hayes and stars Madeleine Coghlan and Scott Evans (brother of Hollywood star Chris Evans). "Stupid Mistake" was the last solo single release from Darren back in 2012. However, he has made appearances on other artists’ efforts, including Cub Sport’s "I Never Cried So Much In My Whole Life" in 2019 and Louis La Roche’s "Cold To Me" in 2021. In addition to writing for other artists, such as UK pop group Steps and featuring on numerous podcasts, Darren has also been hard at work on an original musical with actor and comedian Johnny Menke. As one half of Savage Garden, Darren scored chart hits in the late 1990s with tracks such as "To the Moon and Back" and "Truly Madly Deeply." 2022 marks Hayes's 20th year as a solo artist, and it’s the 25th anniversary of the release of Savage Garden’s self-titled debut album.
