Ed Sheeran has released his new single, "Shivers." The second listen to Sheeran's upcoming fourth solo album "=" is due out this Friday, Sept. 10. “Shivers” is a punchy blast of lovestruck pop, with Sheeran crooning over crisp handclaps, plucky strings, and the chipper strum of his guitar. The track arrives with an equally ebullient video directed by Dave Meyers. Sheeran and actress AnnaSophia Robb play out a fantastical whirlwind romance that involves everything from waiting desperately for a text, some mild superpowers, a dance number, and a street brawl.

Talking about 'Shivers,' Ed Sheeran, a multiple-platinum Grammy winner, wrote on his Instagram handle, "So my second official single from my 4th studio album is called Shivers, and it's out September 10th," Sheeran wrote. "I wrote this as soon as the Divide tour ended in a rented farm in Suffolk where we had set up a studio for a couple of weeks to see what happened. It was written over the course of 3 days which is very different for me, but I felt it was too special to get wrong. It was originally meant to be the first single, but I didn't see a world where Bad Habits existed if it didn't come out in the summer. Shivers always felt more autumnal. I hope you like it; I bloody love it." "Shivers" follows the lead single “Bad Habits” and the follow-up “Visiting Hours.” The new record marks Sheeran’s first solo LP since 2017’s "Divide," although it also follows his 2019 collaborative effort, "No. 6 Collaborations Project."
