Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé has gifted us with a brand-new single titled “Look What You’ve Done” featuring Birmingham MC Jaykae. In the new track, she highlights her multifaceted skillset as she provides the song with her vocals and creates the garage-inspired production, which meshes perfectly with her silky melodies. Jaykae’s contribution comes towards the song's end and hears the rapper come through with some contemplative lyrics of his own. “The song is about the complete surrender we experience when falling in love and explores the euphoria which accompanies that loss of control in both mind and body,” Emeli said of the track. “It’s been a true pleasure working with Jaykae, and I’m so happy he jumped on the track! His flow, wordplay and delivery are phenomenal; he’s added something so very special! I hope it makes people fall in love, dream and, of course, dance!” ‘Look What You’ve Done’ follows on from the previous single ‘Family,’ Emeli’s triumphant first taste of new music in two years that she describes as “a new beginning on many levels for me. It’s an ode to resilience, rebirth, and renewal”, as well as recent collaborations with UK rap and grime giants including Bugzy Malone’s ‘Welcome to the Hood’ and Ghett’s ‘Sonya,’ featured on his Mercury Prize-nominated record Conflict of Interest.
