The Australian-based singer, producer, songwriter, and multimedia artist Jaguar Jonze whose real name is Deena Lynch has dropped her new single, “CUT.” This serves as the first piece of new music since her single “Who Died And Made You King?” and it's powerful redux with Zimbabwean-American activist and artist Shugundzo. The track was written by Deena Lynch, Aidan Hogg, Joseph Fallon, Jacob Mann and Steven Schram. Produced by Aidan Hogg and Jaguar Jonze. The songwriter delivers defiant ferocity through smoky vocals on the forceful new track. “‘CUT’ is the anger behind realizing that people you trusted professionally have been gaslighting you and manipulating your reality – constantly taking from you in a one-way transaction,” says Jaguar Jonze. “Once I realized what was happening, it was a long journey of breaking free from those environments and, more importantly, understanding that what happened had nothing to do with me. It spawned from their deep insecurity and greediness. I was then able to deprogram myself – I wanted nothing but to CUT, get out, and take back control.” The track arrives alongside a video that Lynch wrote, directed, produced, and edited. Framed around choppy, strobe-inflected shots of herself maniacally taking to her crotch with an axle grinder, Lynch said in a press release that she aimed to ride “the fine line between shocking, engaging, maniacal, determined, comedic, and angry.”
