NEW MUSIC: JOY CROOKES | FEET DON'T FAIL ME NOW

Bangladeshi-Irish singer-songwriter Joy Crookes has dropped a video for her new track titled “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now.” The new song from Joy gives off a powerful feeling, and it’ll definitely have you hitting repeat multiple times. It will also be featured on her long-awaited debut album "JC1" alongside “Power” and “Anyone But Me.” The release for the album was pushed back from last year, but Joy confirmed on social media it will be arriving this year. “This song is one of the most complicated songs I’ve ever written (in a good way),” she says. “The track carries with it a deep sense of irony; it’s written from the perspective of someone who finds it easier to remain complicit out of a fear of being cancelled. During the social and political turmoil of the last 12 months, performative behaviour has become prevalent alongside cancel culture. These two reactions, I think, are often intertwined as cancel culture can be a response to half-hearted performative. She added: “Ultimately, I hope the song encourages people to be a bit braver – it’s important to open up a dialogue, speak out, make mistakes – that’s okay, and that’s how progress happens.”
