There's a new way to make it big in the music business, and Mimi Webb is the latest prime example. During the pandemic, the 21-year-old amassed well over a million fans on TikTok with her family-filled singing videos. Now 21, who hails from Canterbury, England, has premiered her new single titled "House On Fire." The track is a bit more of an up-tempo number than we've seen from her before, complete with production credit from Katy Perry and Kesha hitmaker Cirkut. She kicked her aspirations into high gear when she discovered social media could propel her dreams. "TikTok has just been such an incredible app to use, especially in the lockdown. I remember thinking to myself, 'How am I going to release music and get people to hear it and to know my face?'" says Webb, whose family members joined in on her viral videos, "TikTok was just the perfect app for that." The new track follows her debut EP "Seven Shades of Heartbreak," which dropped in October 2021 and features crowd favourites "Dumb Love" and "Good Without," the latter of which peaked at No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart and earned a spot on Billboard's Top 40 Airplay. Inspired by fellow UK native Adele, and became known for her covers of Sam Smith's hit "I'm Not the Only One" and Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI's single "Stay." After ultimately selling out her first ever UK tour, which ended in London on 2nd November, she’ll embark on a 2022 UK and European headline tour. The six-week run kicked off on 19th January at Melkweg, OZ in Amsterdam, and concluded at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on 28th February.
