NEW MUSIC: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS | BLACK SUMMER

After much speculation and leaked artwork, Rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers formed in Los Angeles dropped their new single “Black Summer,” The rumours of new music began when many users in the comments of a Reddit post were skeptical of its credibility, as it was posted on the subreddit with no source and Keevie was nowhere to be found when it came to defending their claim of a new single. Back on December 15, 2019, we learned of the departure of John Klinghoffer from the band, which John Frusciante himself would replace. Since then, the expectation of the fans has only been increasing. We've known for some time now that a new Red Hot Chili Peppers album is done and that it will probably be released this year, but that's about it. Apart from the two teasers, no concrete info about the album's name or exact release date has been given. This new track comes off the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ recently announced global stadium tour in Seville, Spain, on June 4th and concluded in Arlington, Texas, on September 18th. Many high-profile opening acts will be on hand during this tour, including The Strokes, St. Vincent, and A$AP Rocky. The band’s last studio album was 2016’s The Getaway, featuring singles such as “Dark Necessities” and “Go Robot.” That album, which debuted number two on the Billboard 200 – sold more than 500,000 units in the United States alone and is currently certified Gold.
