NEW MUSIC: ROBIN THICKE | PERFECT HOLIDAY

It's the beginning of December, so that means that the Christmas season is officially upon us. That means that many of our faves are looking to add some holiday cheer as Robin Thicke has done, who offers a cheery new song, “Perfect Holiday.” It features a co-production credit from the veteran’s longtime collaborator Pro-Jay, who first worked with him on 2006’s "The Evolution of Robin Thicke." Robin hopes for a comfy Christmas with his honey on the track. But first, he has to get the sound right. He does so with a bouncy, yacht rock-inspired piano groove set up at the song's onset alongside the traditional sleigh bell that has to be included for it to be considered a Christmas song. From there, he lays the love on thick (no pun intended) as he sets the scene. The pace gets picked up to almost disco levels as the drums amp up, and he invites us to celebrate on the chorus. Despite the slight change in tempo, he doesn't forget to gift us with his flawless falsetto as he ushers in the season. Thicke released his most recent album, "On Earth, and in Heaven," in February. His first album in six years featured the hit single “Look Easy,” which peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart in August. “I was inspired by watching these people jump to the front lines to take care of others,” explained Thicke to Rated R&B about his chart-topping anthem. “Even though the lyric wasn’t originally written that way, that’s what it felt. You make love look easy. You make tough times look easy. I thought that was an inspiring message.”
