Rosalía has shared another new song, “Hentai,” from her album "Motomami" and is accompanied by a music video directed by Mitch Ryan. "Motomami" comes out this Friday (March 18) via Columbia. Rosalía previously teased the record with the singles “Saoko,” “Chicken Teriyaki,” and her collaboration with The Weeknd called “La Fama.” It follows her 2018 Grammy-winning breakout album "El Mal Querer." Speaking to Rolling Stone last November, she described the upcoming LP as “the most personal and confessional album that I’ve made so far,” adding that it’s about “a feminine figure building herself.” She juxtaposes the delicacy of the music and her voice, which is Judy Garland-level warm, with the writing, which is veiled but still provocative. It plays with the kind of lyricism that people let men get away with all the time and adds contrasts through unexpected production choices. As the intensity builds up, she chirps “so, so, so, so, so, so good” while industrial-sounding, Arca-style machine guns shoot off in the distance. In an accompanying video, directed by Mitch Ryan, she rides a mechanical bull in a sun-lit field and writhes in bed, celebrating natural ecstasy. Last weekend (March 12), Rosalía made her debut appearance on "Saturday Night Live," where she performed ‘Chicken Teriyaki’ and ‘La Fama’ to a vast US TV audience.
