NEW MUSIC: RÖYSKOPP | IF YOU WANT ME (FEAT. SUSANNE SUNDFØR
Electronic duo Röyksopp has shared a new song, “If You Want Me,” featuring Susanne Sundfør. The latest release from the duo’s upcoming conceptual project, "Profound Mysteries," will be out this Friday, April 29. It follows previous songs "This Time," "This Place," "Impossible," "(Nothing But) Ashes," "The Ladder," and "Breathe." The new album comprises of 10-tracks, featuring guest appearances from Astrid S, Alison Goldfrapp, Susanne Sundfør, Beki Mari and Pixx. The album is described in a press release as “an expanded creative universe and a prodigious conceptual project.” The duo said of the project, “As human beings, what we don’t know vastly overshadows what we do know. As teenagers, we would discuss our own fascination and preoccupation with the infinite and the impossible – the most profound mysteries of life.” Röyksopp previously said “goodbye to the traditional album format” following the release of their fifth LP "The Inevitable End" in 2014, but vowed to continue making music together. "If You Want Me" is the sixth instalment in the duo’s project, featuring long-term collaborator Susanne Sundfør. It also comes with a Martin Werner-directed short film, "Mycelium," and Jonathan Zawada-designed artifact and visualizer. Earlier this month, the duo announced that ten new short films would accompany the forthcoming release of the new project, thanks to a creative partnership with the film production company Bacon.
