Following some severe teasing that they were working together, Norwegian singer and songwriter Sigrid and Bring Me Horizon have revealed their collaborative track "Bad Life." The new track is a low-key ballad, brimming with earnest and affirming vocal performances from both Sigrid and Oli Sykes. And together, the pair paint a picture of what it means to feel like the world is against you, but a reminder that the dark clouds don't last forever. It's about finding the positives in the negatives and making it through the day. “Bad Life” features a bit of a different side from Sykes. Instead of the vocalist's ferocious screaming we’re used to; the new track has a calmer tone. “It tells the story of when things are rough, and it can feel like you’re never going to stop feeling sad,” explains Sigrid of the new track, which came about when the two acts met backstage at Reading & Leeds festival last year. “Jordan & myself wrote this song in lockdown, remotely,” explains Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes. “We loved the message, but it wasn’t really fitting with the brief of the record we are currently creating. When we found out Sigrid was a fan, we felt like it was the perfect fit for her, although initially, I was reluctant as I felt like it was such a special record. Then Sigrid asked if I’d duet with her on the track, and that sealed the deal!” It also adds to a growing list of Bring Me The Horizon collaborations. They’ve also teamed up with Ed Sheeran on “Bad Habits,” Machine Gun Kelly on “maybe,” and, most recently, Masked Wolf on “Fallout.” ‘Bad Life’ will feature Sigrid’s second album, "How To Let Go," which will be released on 6th May 2022.
