NEW MUSIC: YUNGBLUD | THE FUNERAL

After wiping his socials earlier this week, YUNGBLUD, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, the little tyke wiped his social media profile pictures and started inviting fans to his funeral. Quite obviously, all of this is because YUNGBLUD's new single has been released titled "The Funeral," Following on from the proud self-deprecation of last year's "Fleabag," "The Funeral" continues to dive deep into Dom's psyche, where he deals out plenty of raw forward-flipping thoughts. Over a driving rock guitar lick, he admits that he's been unable to get out of bed despite not being able to sleep, he's out of clean clothes, and he's struggling to eat anything apart from a cigarette after cigarette. It's a darkly honest depiction of what life can be like away from the cameras and the limelight. There's no pomp and theatre to this song and this situation, just honesty and emotion. That same level of poetic despondency bleeds into the jangling emo chorus, where Dom then paints a picture of what he hopes his funeral will be like, with those he loves dancing to his memory with tears in their eyes. But instead, there is nobody, and with what feels like a sly smile on his lips, he utters, "What a shame, shame, shame." In addition, Yungblud recently hinted that Miley Cyrus could feature as a guest on his next record. In December 2021, he was pictured in the studio with Willow in London after attending her one-off gig in the capital earlier that month.
