SONGS YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS WEEK

FLETCHER | HEALING

Pop singer-songwriter FLETCHER has released a new track titled ‘Healing,’ a powerful song about recovery. “The process of making this song was really freeing,” says the Los Angeles-based 27-year-old. “We’re all healing from something,” she says. “The world is healing right now. I can feel the collective energy of people waking up to their power and connecting to themselves in a way that humanity never has before. Healing isn’t a linear process, and it’ll take you on the most insane rollercoaster ride of your life. But it’s worth the view at the top.” "Healing" follows her successful 2020 EP "The S(EX) Tapes," which reached the top of iTunes charts and featured standout single "Bitter." The acclaimed album explored her breakup with YouTuber Shannon Beveridge.
JIMMIE ALLEN, PITBULL, TEAMWORK | FLAVOUR (FEAT. VIKINA)

On the heels of his critically-acclaimed project "Bettie James," the chart-topping, platinum-selling recording artist Jimmie Allen releases his new album "Bettie James Gold Edition." A standout track from the expanded edition is a track titled "Flavour" with Pitbull, Teamwork, which Allen recently joined for a photograph with Elton John and features Cuban and Ecuadorian singer Vikina. The 16-track album doubles down on Allen’s expansive love for music across genres, with nine brand new collaborations in addition to the seven previously featured on "Bettie James." Allen says of the expanded album, “There’s some Pop, there’s some Rock, there’s some Country, there’s some R&B. I got a chance to work with legends! When I was writing some of the songs, I was trying to picture each moment." "Bettie James Gold Edition" is a continued homage to Allen’s late father, James Allen, and late grandmother, Bettie Snead, who passed away in September 2019 and February 2014, respectively.
HERE AT LAST | REMEDY

Formed in 2020 and now with almost 2 million followers on TikTok plus hundreds of fan accounts across all social media platforms, and aim to climb up the charts to be the next household boyband to come out of the UK. The group consisting of Zach, Tommy, Pedro, James and Ryan are known as Here At Last, has leaped from obscurity with a masterstroke of collective thinking. Now they have released a new single titled "Remedy," a follow-up=to their debut single, "Tongue." Currently, Indonesians and Filipinos make up a big chunk of the band's following on TikTok. Both Indonesia and the Philippines are in the Top 5 based on the band's follower count on the app. The catchy track “Remedy” officially marks Here At Last’s step into the music industry, and this is only the beginning for the band.
OLIVIA HOLT | NEXT

Olivia Holt is about to embark on her new musical era with her new song "Next," a confident summer bop co-written by Meghan Trainor that marks the beginning of "Cruel Summer," the star's latest creative endeavour. The catchy single holds significant meaning for Holt as she embraces and evolves her artistry. On "Cruel Summer," in which the first season ended last week, Holt stars in as Kate Wallis; she was offered the opportunity to cover three iconic '90s songs by the Smashing Pumpkins ("Today" and "Disarm") and Radiohead ("Creep"). Producers on the Freeform mystery drama reached out to Holt with the knowledge that she made music, asking if she'd be interested in contributing to the show's soundtrack. Holt's haunting "Creep" cover in the freshman finale remains a highlight of the episode.
EMILY BURNS | I'M SO HAPPY

The introspective happy-sad track from Emily Burns called "I'm So Happy" arrives ahead of her support tour with Rag’n’Bone Man's tour booked in September. She explains the new single, "I clearly remember the day I wrote "I’m So Happy" … I went into the studio and was in the best mood ever. I said to the guys about how good I was feeling and how everything was going right in my life that day - "I’m in love, I have great family and friends, I love my job," and so on. We started talking about the fear that comes hand-in-hand with overwhelming happiness, the worry that something is bound to go wrong, even when it might never. That’s where the idea of "I’m so happy, it’s a problem" came from… the idea that sometimes happiness can be painful because you feel like you’ve got so much to lose. It’s like being on a tightrope and knowing that one wrong move could cause the end of it all." No word yet if there will be a follow-up to last year's "I Love You, You're The Worst" EP.
PEACH PRC | SYMPTOMATIC

After making huge waves with her major-label debut single earlier this year, pop songwriter and TikTok star Peach PRC have returned with her follow-up, "Symptomatic" Despite the song being filled to the brim with the type of glittery electro-pop Peach infused in debut single "Josh," the song is actually born out of Peach’s experience with mental illness. “One of the features of my mental illness is I can have really low periods and then swing into an incredible high manic period,” Peach said in a press statement. ‘Symptomatic’ also marks Peach PRC's first song since she accused comedian Alex Williamson of “abusive” & “predatory” behaviour. Once Peach’s allegations began to circulate, Williamson was dropped by his management team and kicked off the lineup for both the Sydney and Perth comedy festival.
