In 1997, Brandy made history when she starred as a princess in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Nearly 25 years later, Disney called her to create a new song, “Starting Now,” an ode to the Princesses. So it's only fitting that she supplied "Starting Now," the theme for Disney's year-long "Ultimate Princess Celebration." Three months after the song's arrival, In the video, the first Black Disney Cinderella walks gracefully in an enchanting garden to belt out the uplifting song produced by Warren “Oak” Felder. When Brandy isn’t blinding us with her captivating beauty, the visual follows a couple of youth, attaching their individual stories to Disney princesses, including Merida, Moana, and of course, Cinderella. Brandy is later joined in the visual by a handful of dazzling princesses, banding together to show unity. On October 19, Brandy is set to star in the ABC hip-hop drama series "Queens" alongside Eve, Naturi Naughton, and Nadine Velazquez. An extended trailer debuted earlier this week.
