"The new track which features the addition of Swift's vocals marks the fourth official collaboration between the musicians and longtime friends, following "Everything Has Changed" (2012), "End Game" (2017) and "Run (Taylor's Version)" (2021). “Me and Taylor first met and wrote + recorded our first song together in 2012, ten years ago now, I’m so so honoured to have her on this song,” Sheeran wrote in a message on Instagram. “Not only is she the best singer/songwriter in the world, but she’s also a very close friend. I’m fortunate to have her in my life. For the music video, we got the kids from our song ‘Everything Has Changed,’ all grown up and off to college now!” In addition, Sheeran took home the BRIT Award for Songwriter of the Year at this year’s ceremony and was presented with the award by "Succession" actor Brian Cox. The singer collaborated on-stage with Bring Me The Horizon during the ceremony, with the two acts reworking Sheeran’s "Bad Habits." They’re on track to further the collaboration by writing a song together. The BRITs also saw Wolf Alice and Sam Fender earning their first gongs, while Little Simz won Best New Artist. Now Swift has released a remix of "Message In A Bottle" from Fat Max G, who has no internet presence under that name - he’s Swedish producer Max Grahn, aka Fat Max Gsus and seems to be an affiliate of the Max Martin crew. The release is part of Swift's current efforts to re-record her music catalogue to own her masters. "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" was released to universal acclaim. Swift also released her version of "Wildest Dreams" from 1989. However, there is no set a date for the release of "1989 (Taylor's Version)". Swift recently won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for her record-breaking LP "Folklore." The album was surprisingly released in July 2020. Swift continued to release another surprise album, "Evermore," in December 2020. Taylor Swift holds the record for the most Billboard Music Award wins, with 23. In 2018, her massive Reputation Stadium Tour made history as the highest-grossing U.S. tour ever, according to Billboard Boxscore. Swift has achieved nine No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart - all with her previous five studio albums. While she ran through the track’s harrowing recounting of a past relationship, footage from "All Too Well: The Short Film" played on the backing screen. Taylor. Now she has added yet another variation to the expanding universe of "Red" deep cut “All Too Well” with “All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)” recorded at Long Pond Studios in upstate New York. “One of the saddest songs I’ve ever written just got sadder,” Swift posted on Twitter, and it isn’t hyperbole. She said she drove to Long Pond Studios in upstate New York to track the song with Dessner and Low. Her 2020 "Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions" documentary was also set at the isolated studio in the woods. Like the track that appears on "Red (Taylor’s Version)," the song is an extended 10-minute poignant reflection on a heart-wrenching breakup. The shorter original track appeared on 2012’s "Red." The new take earns its Sad Girl stripes with its soft piano beginnings buoying her hushed opening vocal, which receives touches of lush layering accentuating the emotional lyrics as the song progresses. The latest version of the track follows the release of the epic Swift-directed "All Too Well" a short film starring Stranger Things‘ Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien. - NEW MUSIC: TAYLOR SWIFT | THE LAKES (ORIGINAL VERSION)
Taylor Swift is celebrating a year since her Grammy-winning album “Folklore” by giving fans an anniversary gift. It is an alternate, “original” version of the bonus track “The Lakes” with a more elaborate co-writer/co-producer than the previous recording did. “It’s been one year since we escaped the real world together and imagined ourselves someplace simpler,” Swift wrote on her social media accounts. “With tall, tall trees and salt air. Where you’re allowed to wear lace nightgowns that make you look like a Victorian ghost every day & no one will side-eye you cause no one is around. It’s just you and your imaginary cabin and the stories you make up to pass the time. Thank you for all you have done to make this album what it was; I wanted to give you the original version of ‘The Lakes.’ Happy 1st anniversary to Rebekah, Betty, Inez, James, Augustine, and the lives we all created around them. Happy Anniversary, folklore.” The alternate version is titled “The Lakes (Original Version)” because the more ornate-sounding instrumentation was producer Jack Antonoff’s original plan for the song. In Billboard this past Tuesday, Antonoff recalled, “there was this big orchestral version, and Taylor was like, ‘Eh, make it small.’ I had gotten lost in the string arrangements and all this stuff, and I took everything out.” This version puts all of those layers of strings and sound right back in there.
